Yea, I'm in the midst of a tight situation... The translated script for Merchant of Venice has to be handed in tomorrow... I've only done with a few lines... Great, the wick of the dusty oil lamp will soon be lighted...
It is a tedious work of translation attempt...first time experience for me as the group director... This evening was made to be a cosy weather for naps and snoozes as it was raining, in fact it was pouring the whole evening... now a mere drizzle...I dreaded it, workloads for me, work burdens for me... I hath a snooze though...soon after, regretted it... My script laid untouched...
my brains are breaking apart, what to say to thou? My lines, my lines...I hath to finish my lines... very desperately...
Here come forth the full stop, I shall write no more...upon this frustrated moment...
P/s: seems like I hath been screwed up by all the old English usage...lol...

Of fishes...
Something rang a bell in my mind...Fishes...
I missed fishes from the pasar payang...
freshly tossed from turquoise waters of the coast...
their sight are the friendliest... incomparable...
Fishes here, where I settle temporarily... unbearable...
Just look at the ones on trays array...
Proudly displayed... Proud to be one of those on trays...
My eyes look away from them every time...
even the veggies are much nicer looking...
what pathetic looks they have...
not to mention, savour them...
Shiny skin...fried, steam, 'gravied', peppered, spiced...
Never do I rest my cravings for them...
Yet, they lay there, proud to be glimpse upon,
as though my hands had reach over...
as though I had lost myself to their sight...
What a joke...
Glimpse is mere glimpse...
No intention,
simply natural...
Why?
To pick what I decide to have,
on my menu...
I had to look through every single one of them,
not to say the centered dishes - fishes,
they delightedly purr when I rest my sight upon them...
Nope, I definitely won't choose those fishes...
Unless, the cook decides to change the style they are cooked...
Well, I hope there will be a change in the recipe,
for the next bucket of fishes delivered...
In the mean time, I looked for chicken, veggies, tofu...
which are some how, always not an eyesore for the picky me...

Euphoria in experiencing a piece of culture...
The luminous dragon amid the 'clouds'
........nnnice golden Ox.....
Wow, lots and lots of jewels and gold in a golden chest!!!
me* with a float which is not so clearly focused
The gods worshipped during the Chinggay festival
Sun wu kong and some other don't-no-what characters (I think it may be the eight fairies crossing the ocean???)
zhu ba jie- a character from an old legend " the monkey goes west"
nice sail made of lanterns
Dragon boat float
Yesterday, three of us (Pei Hwa, Hui Ying and I) bravely went to the Johor Chingay festival (sort of an old temple worshipping procession), despite strong objections by our Johorian friends as they reason that it was too crowded... Situations like this may attract pick pockets and snatch thieves... We were very curious about this procession which was an annual event... It seems to be the second largest celebration in Asia, after the mass celebration in China (that's what I heard from my Johorian friend, Tzyy Wei)...

It seems to be the second largest celebration in Asia, after the mass celebration in China (that's what I heard from my Johorian friend, Tzyy Wei)...
After much pondering and hesitation, we called a taxi to go to Danga City Mall near the starting point of the procession... The taxi crawled along the road as there was a bad traffic jam... Many vehicles seemed to be going to the spotlight venue too!
Talking about the crowd, I'll discuss no more of it to allow dear Pei Hwa to blog about it, the next time she online...It's simple crowded!!!
We thought the procession was going to start at 6pm... But then we discovered that it will actually began at 7pm... We waited patiently(at first), then, starting to grumble about back aches for standing to long a time, staring at the tiny black crowds flooding the roads(from above a hilltop staircase)... The procession actually started at 7.30pm...Hmm, Malaysian time as usual...
Three of us, the ulu kampung girls, kept gigi gaga-ing over the thickly makeups that those procession participants wore... Some kind of typical chinese opera make ups and costumes.... They were all dressed up as legendary and mythical heroes that were written down by ancient scholars...
There were nice floats decorated and furnished with a major touch of chinese culture... Dragon dance were shown once every now and then in sequence of the long line of procession... Miniature figures of gods and deities were carried by muscular men as in some unexpected moment the carriage where the deities were placed will rocked violently as it is said that the gods were present in their own figures during the worshipping ritual...
We were too glad for words to describe when we saw Yong Qiang waving madly to catch our attention for far... He had come with Mr Chua a Maths lecturer from our institute... At last, three of us heaved a sigh of relief as there is an adult whom we can rely on for the rest of the show... Sweets, candies, and instant beverage packs were given out by those who were participating in the procession... It was fun getting these from Chai Sen Ye (god of wealth) as it symbolises...I feel like a kid again, reaching out my hands to receive little gifts from the others... It was fun...
I'll have to stop here as it is late now... More details will be blogged by Pei Hwa in her blog...
By the way, my legs are now suffering the consequences of a long strut during the event last night....
P/s: to fefey, can't on msn lar... sorry so long didn't find you chat liao...wireless here don't allow access to messenger i think...

Gathering - High Tea...^^
IPTI's TESOL cohort 2 - complete photo of everyone
Having high tea at Mutiara Hotel...That's the door gift...It's quite a large one... (I mean the one in my hands, lol...)
We had a get together high tea to bid farewell to our super seniors who are going for their practical soon... RM56 is a bit too costly for just a high tea, yes, that's the sum we had to pay for it... (It's way cheaper in Terengganu)...
The performances by my coursemates and other seniors were fantastic... Well, I didn't had a part in it, that's more relaxing for me though...
There were lots of food...Various cakes, tasty dishes and sinfully delicious kuih... My mouth started watering again as I recall it...
I do not have the chance to taste all the cakes because it was rather filling with all the other dishes digesting in the stomach... Chocolate cakes, cheese cakes, and different types of layer cakes...Yum, yum...
By the way, we sat in a BUS to get to the hotel where the high tea was held... ^@^!''

The last moon light of chinese new year...
We 'picked' the lovely moon (my hand was supported by Natalie's)
The news was heard, the papers have announced it ... There should be a penumbral elipse last night from 8.30pm to 10.30pm... We waited and waited but to our dismay...There was no such occurance in this part of Peninsular Malaysia... It seemed that it can be observed clearly in Penang... It was quite disappointing... But still, we got the chance to be showered by the soft silvery moonlight... it was a breathtaking sight...

Back to School... Err, I mean Institute...
Got back this morning... The morning hadn't prevail its light... It was nearly 6am when I arrived at the familiar bus station... Half-awaken and still with the half-closed eyes, Pei Hwa and I dragged ourselves of the bus together with our luggage... The station wasn't as busy as usual today, kind of weird though...
Cautious of pick pockets and snatch thieves, we edged ourselves towards McDonald's, the only tuck shop which opens its doors at such an odd wee hours (not really wee hours, I guess because of it's 24 hours operation )...
There were no indication of the 'new year'-ly mood... Ticket ushers were shouting at every passerby... "Skudai!!!...Skudai!!!.....Lumut!!!...Lumut!!!....Amoi, nak ke Lumut?!!!...Lumut!!!...Lumut!!!" Seriously, i find it quite an 'ear sore' especially when they started shouting into your ear as you pass by... But it is also a good thing, I was wide awake after that... Saw our senior, Mei Ching in the shop... Thinking about it now makes me wonder: She didn't went back to Perlis for cny celebration, so why was she there so early in the morning with some luggage too? Then, I saw Theva and Prasyana too... They had arrived at 5 something... That's much earlier than us...
We ended up sitting the same taxi back to our institute... The Indian driver was thinking whether to charge us rm 12 or rm8.... With some persuasion from Theva (I guess), in the indian dialect, which I do not have much understanding of, he left with our rm8 only... That was also quite a cut throat price as the bus station was quite near my institute...If it is not because of our heavy luggage, I would had walked all the way back to my hostel... That for free of course...
The familiar sights of the institute came into sight...Usual sleepy hollow scene without a soul on the field... My room welcomed me with a thick layer of dust...Spring cleaning work waiting for me...
Spent the day unpacking, mopping the floor, sleeping... Having naps and snoozes every now and then, as i had spent an uncomfortable night in the bus, jamming my feet against my big luggage through that 8 hours' journey...
I just hate to leave my hometown and my friends during chinese new year... Lessons will resume tomorrow... I think i'll go to bed earlier tonight...
